Bought with intention to get dirty. As soon as I started coloring I noticed that the laminate colored differently giving a checkerboard effect. Instead we decided to paint. When we tried to install the drawer, the width of the rails on the drawer did not match the rails on the cabinet. I had to buy longer screws and washers and run each rail on the box to ensure proper alignment. All other parts connected without problems. The cabinet is durable and will last a long time.

Despite some assembly issues this is a very strong and attractive TV stand. Rubberwood has a pleasant texture and color. It matched our 49 inch TV with headroom and easily accommodated our DVD player, sound system and controller box. The extractor hood is handy for DVD storage but a bit flimsy. Assembly was difficult as the parts were not numbered or labeled and the back panel does not fit requires an alternative assembly method. Very reasonable price for rubber tree quality. Very sturdy TV stand. It was very easy to put together until we got to the box. Make sure the rails on the sides of the drawer fit into the rails on the sides of the stand before assembling the drawer. We had trouble putting the drawer in, but once we put the stand in (that was before putting the top on) it went in easier. We had to move one of the rails because the box didn't fit across. We have great grandchildren and didn't want to risk it tipping over and didn't want to mount it to the wall

If you've read the other reviews, you know my biggest problem. The box doesn't fit. It's very frustrating to discover this after you've painted and assembled the base and the last thing you have to do is put the box back in place. It just doesn't fit. I spent over an hour getting it working. I even called the importer International Concepts (which is Whitewood Industries' DBA). I bought it because it was advertised as solid wood furniture. I found it attractive along with the fact that it looked sturdy, but nothing more. Assembly was a real hassle (definitely needed 2 people), hence 3 stars. I can't mount the drawer on the rails yet. I hope to find out soon. Works well, if a bit smaller, for my large 47 inch LCD TV. Don't worry about stability or durability though, this thing is like a tank. It absorbs stains well and looks good. I love the way my family room looks, moving the TV to the corner is a huge improvement. I bought this stand to put a 43 inch TV. All parts arrived safely. Many reviewers have pointed out an issue with the box's construction, but I've had no problems. I was impressed that I removed all the parts and wood pieces with wood and varnished and presented finished. I used to buy and assemble a lot of furniture with my own hands, so this should have been a piece of cake. I thought!
