This is the second one I bought because my sons shared it. No complaints. Make something and the price is right. Plug it in and Windows will start downloading the required driver/software. Couldn't be easier. I don't know how far its range is, but I have a fairly large two-story house of 2000 square meters. foot and I can use it on an old laptop from anywhere in the house and get good reception from my router.

I would recommend this USB-N wireless adapter if you are looking for one at an affordable price.

I bought this adapter because it was tested with my RAID array . I also have a Belkin N300 USB Micro Adapter (which I consider inferior). For the Belkin N300, the signal is 98-100% (about 25 feet from the router, straight line). With this adapter in the exact same device and location, the signal was 49-54%. I checked after installing the drivers on a PC and got a similar result. In the end it was a waste of money. Luckily it wasn't very expensive.
