I bought two of these to keep my German Shepherds in place in the car when traveling. They're long enough to give them a comfortable range of motion, but restrict their movement to prevent them from climbing out the window. They seem strong enough to protect her in a car crash. I tied her to a strong harness and so far so good.

Excellent product, I really like the bungee stiffness. I also like the flexibility of the extra clip for the rear of the SUV. However, my mini-doodle chewed on the seat belt. As much as I love this product I love it when it's appropriate I have had 3 occasions in the last week since I started using this product when it came loose. This worked great and was just what I needed to keep my Goldendoodle safe in my Jeep. I actually used it in combination with another product because that product failed the safety/crash tests and I wanted a little more safety. What I really like is that it attaches directly to a metal bracket in the same place as a child car seat. This harness has worked great on about a dozen car rides with my 95 lb dog in the back seat. I paired it with a rear seat cover (to keep the pooch from slipping off the seat) so my partner was easily tied down even in the event of a sudden stop. We are very disappointed! We tried the dog harness and my first complaint was that it was too tight for my large dog. Even open to its longest point, the harness still pulls the halter to my dog (assuming the clips are on his back and the harness pulls the halter to his side).
