Good product! - External Hard Drives

I bought two of these, one in November 2007 and the other in April 2008 to back up my independent movies and projects and they both work great. Never had a problem with them. Easy to connect. Loads files fairly quickly and always recognizes my files when I try to find and retrieve them. Almost no noise. I am very happy with them.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others

The included software does not work with 64-bit operating system

I wanted to use this hard drive to automatically back up my C drive. The included software for this does not work with my 64-bit operating system Windows XP. I have to drag and drop each folder onto the Omega's hard drive. This contradicts the purpose of the hard disk. I worked with a technician from Iomega. Apparently Iomega has no plans to fix this problem.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Can I add something

Iomega External Hard Drive

Iomega makes good products. I bought two hard drives, two of which work with three different computers, and they're great for the amount of material they hold. Really worked to prevent our computers from getting stuck and was easy to install.

Pros
  • Solid Construction
Cons
  • Doubtful

Vista has no idea about disk space

Obviously you will have problems with MS Vista with this disk. Often the hard drive just disappears. I can't tell you how often automatic backups fail in Vista. Skip this disc for Vista. I only gave 2 stars because of the manual copy function.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Useless functions

Not for imac! in Computer and Accessories

Worked for me for the first time. A few weeks later I decided to back up again. It won't connect to my imac. I called Iomega and they helped me through a number of steps to get connected. Through the third step, we learned that he had a serious accident. I thought they found the problem. They sent me a second one and it connected for about three minutes and then disconnected. I wouldn't trust my files now even if they sent me another one. I guess I have excess paper weight now. I gave it to my…

  • Worth the money

  • Everything is fine

Great for my Mac. Best in External Hard Drives

I bought many hard drives before finally buying this one. It has a triple interface including FireWire 800 which works great with my new Mac. It runs super smooth and fast. It's also a good-looking hard drive, so it doesn't stand out too much. Great purchase, you won't regret it. This is also a good investment. This will be a good hard drive for a while with its fast connection.

Pros
  • glitters
Cons
  • Expensive Insurance

Fast and reliable external hard drives

This drive is great for backup. It's incredibly quiet and fast, especially when connected via Firewire 800. After installing Leopard it worked great for me and then I decided to switch back to Tiger using the backup I made on the Iomega drive using Carbon Copy Cloner.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Modern
