I've been using one of these for years and after a few screen and anode changes I found that the solar panel is no longer doing anything. This Sunset Solar Ionizer has a better design because the spiral spring is a detachable element. I doubt it will ever need to be replaced, but being able to take it off for cleaning is very handy. So far so good, I'm using this with our standard 8000 gallon chlorine tablets in an above ground pool. All that is required for assembly is to install the copper rod, spring and basket, about 3 minutes. It comes with a spare plastic wing nut, a plastic cap on the end of the copper rod, a stainless steel brush and a wire brush. I have this in my 10x12 carp pond in my backyard. It will take time to tell if this really works, but I like the concept. My only issue is that it floats and gets stuck in the pond at random spots. You can pin it in one spot, but then it won't be effective in any other area, so it looks like you'll have to float it around to cover the pond. I don't think that works in deeper areas of the pond?
