I received this remote in the morning and use it all day without charging right out of the box. Sufficient for approx. 8 hours of continuous use. It can still be used while charging and seems to work if you point it at the room. Difficult to program. I followed the instructions on the back of the controller but I had to do this at least 5 times before it recognized the command. I did this for each button I wanted to program. I generally like this little guy a lot. It has a full keyboard unlike other mini keyboards I've looked at, it includes a lot of IR buttons so I can do more than just turn on the TV and change the volume, installation is pretty easy and overall it has a pretty A solid feel as it will last at least a year or two. All my cons so far are pretty minor. There are two things that combined to result in the loss of a star, but I'd also like to see more color options as clearly multi-colored LEDs already
