Description of Irix 150mm f/2.8 Macro 1:1 Dragonfly Lens for Canon: Unleash Your Macro Photography Potential

A modern and versatile macro telephoto lens designed for full-frame high-resolution DSLR cameras. Its fast aperture of f/2.8 facilitates shorter exposure times, while its moderately long focal length of 150mm provides an excellent compromise between the narrow viewing angle desired in macro, advertising and portrait photography, and the convenience of hand-held photography.

Fatal flaw in an otherwise great lens

Nicely and securely packaged, great Exif info, razor sharp photos with stunning object resolution. BUT, I'm afraid to hold it. It randomly emits a LOUD buzzing NOISE (loud NOISE) that persists even after the camera is turned off. Only by pulling out the battery was it possible to stop it. I bought this lens for my Sony a7iii. I have Metabones and MC-11 adapters for Canon mount lenses. My Sony a7iii works great with all my other Canon lenses and older lenses (including the IRIX 15mm). Of course,

I like it but it fits camera lenses

I use with Sony A7R iii adapter and Sigma MC-11. Both the camera and the adapter have the latest firmware. I like the feel of the lens. Focusing is made easier by using the viewer's magnification instead of focusing. The pictures taken are pretty good. But I experience the loud buzz that others have reported. The buzzing would occur every time the camera was turned off, but sometimes the buzzing would be random when the power was turned off. I encountered the issue in both manual and aperture…

  • So far satisfied

Just a wonderful lens for the game.

I've been using it on Sony A7ii for a week now with a Commlite adapter. Everything worked great and I didn't have any loud noises like some others. The only noise I had was the focus ring, which made a little noise the first few times I used it. Since then it has disappeared. I bought it for hiking as I felt the Sony 90mm just wasn't long enough for most animals I find. Haven't taken it hiking yet but have used an external laptop and home studio on a tripod. On a sunny day I was able to shoot…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad but...
