I had six 1/2 holes in 3/8 steel that I had to drill to 9/16. I expected to be able to easily handle this task with a brand new bit. But the 5th hole was difficult and I finished the 6th with a file.
I needed a drill this size for a house project. I've checked hardware and hardware stores and none have even a piece this size. Ordering was easy and delivery was fast. I used it on wood and it cut like a champ. Appears to be made of quality material.
I needed a 9/16 drill bit to drill a hole in a metal door for a peep hole. This Deming style silver bit features a beveled shank to prevent slipping in the drill chuck. I can't test the hardness of the metal. But for the price it seemed better than others. I have other Irwin tools and they seem to be of better quality overall so I'll take a look to compare.
