My radio will not broadcast with this battery box with fresh alkaline batteries (tested on 2 different radios). Accepted normal, menu functions work normally. Since purchasing (and returning) this case, I've read reports that it only works with lithium batteries, but I haven't tested this.

The problem is that the dimensions do not match the Baofent UV-5RA radio. Just a little off and very difficult to remove from the radio if you manage to plug it in. Good battery compartment. I had to change a bit to keep it closed. The body splits in half to allow you to load the cells. There are 2 small tabs on the top of the case to keep it closed and a latch on the bottom. The latch on the bottom didn't click into place once the cells were in place.
