Takes power from Raspberry Pi.

After using it I keep seeing the lightning bolt symbol which means it can't pass full current through the switch. I have no problems when I'm not using them. It's a shame, because I like being convincing in these things.

Pros
  • Suitable for many
Cons
  • Too long to wait

The answer to my problems.

We have several devices these days and for some reason many of them just don't have an on/off switch. I use these nifty little switches for both of my Roku streaming players, as well as my Chromecast. It's so nice not to have them on all the time and wasting electricity. Not to mention the reduced chance of damage from constant twitching of the wires. Highly recommended.

  • Special Offer
Cons
  • Infinitely Slow

I've suffered too long without her!

I LOVE these switches! They're simple, plug right in, and solve the problem of manually unplugging the power cord from my systems and then trying to plug the cord back in. I have my stack of three, so in order to be able to see the power connectors I have to twist the entire stack, twist and fight all the cables and connectors. Now all I have to do is press the button. I'm so glad I bought them.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Some problems

I've bought at least 3-4 sets of these guys and I highly recommend them. This makes it easier to turn on and off instead of unplugging and plugging the power cord back into your Raspberry Pi. If you are a Raspberry PI user/master I would highly recommend it. What's even better is that a couple of these plugs broke and all it took was a quick email and replacements were sent to me. Great product and great customer service.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Not bad

Great product, illogical shifting

Overall it's great! A very efficient way to toggle an existing Micro USB cable on and off. With more and more devices using this connector just for power, it's very convenient. However, there was one thing that surprised me. The switch is on when the button is in the OFF position and off when the button is pressed. This is totally illogical and it took me a while to figure out what was going on. This does not affect the operation of the switch, you just need to consciously think every time you…

Causes low voltage lightning (which is bad)

I've tried them on 2 and 3 B+. Both were connected to an external drive, Ethernet, USB mouse and HDMI. Without the switch both worked fine and never showed any low voltage flashes. As soon as I put the switch between the device and the power supply, they both flashed constantly. They either actually prevent enough current from being delivered to the device, or they simply don't allow the device to sense enough current. (The latter is doubtful.) Anyway, they're useless to me. I don't want to…

UPDATE: 2019-01-31 ================== When I actually bought this - I blindly assumed it would support data transfer for my ESP8266 and ESP32 microcontrollers, but it doesn't. But since it was my own fault for not reading the other reviews before ordering, I decided to keep it for my Raspberry Pi. Today I had the chance to test it on both the Raspberry Pi 2 and 3 - with a 5V 3.4A power supply. . Both complain about the voltage drop. I bought 4 packs and they all have the same problem. So I…

Functional but would like a turn signal

So far the three I've used have worked. You press a button, electricity flows. Press the button again and the power will stop. While it works well, it's VERY hard to tell if the power is on or off. This switch really needs either a bigger button or some other physical way to indicate the on/off position. A small LED display would be very helpful. I've attached some pictures to show the difference between on (top) and off (bottom). In my experience, these positions are also counterintuitive…
