Description of 🎣 Daiwa J-Braid 300M 8-Strand Braided Fishing Line

8 Carrier Dyneema Braid. Soft and smooth round profile line that is more sensitive and farther casting. Best choice for spinning reels or finesse fishing. Chartreuse line is highly visible and this helps detect even the slightest line movements. Made in Japan.

Ok but I expected more

I have used three brands of weave over the past three years: Hercules, Power Pro and now J Braid. The dye on the J Braid seems to come off the quickest, rubs off more easily than the Hercules and Power Pro, and seems the most prone to tangling. The Power Pro Line is great but expensive. J Line appears to be slightly stronger than Hercules in online reviews, but Hercules appears to be more colorfast and less prone to tangling. I think I'll stick with Hercules.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Some bugs

Wind knots and loops

I really liked this line but for my purposes with a spinning reel it's not the best choice. It's very thin and pliable, which looks nice, but creates a lot of wind knots and loops on the spool. I fish from the bank with a 1/2 and sometimes 3/8oz jig head and I can tell you it's not up to the task. Too many wind knots and the like. Good for power etc. I'd say it's probably great for a bait reel, which is what the one I bought is for. Great price for the right app.

Pros
  • Great overall performance

It just keeps breaking

I use J 8 10 20 and 30 lb braid on many of my reels. Then I put those 15 pounds on a new Feugo lt 4000 and it broke about 20-30 yards on the cast 3 times in a row after I tried to retrieve it. Not even addicted. The last time I could see where it would break it looked a little blurry. No cracks on the guide (tested with bud and tights), this one had a manufacturing defect. But how did it pass the Q/A? Now it's broken and you have to send it back to get a refund. I cut it off, how do I send it…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Pretty good
