Description of 🌞 Enhance Outdoor Lighting with J.LUMI YCA1008 Twist Lock Photocell - UL Listed, Next Gen Electronics, Dusk to Dawn Sensor

| UL LISTED | Our photocell sensor is UL listed to ensure quality and your safety. Being UL listed qualifies this photocell sensor for a wide range of residential and commercial lighting applications such as outdoor area lights, parking lot shoe box lights, street lights. | NEXT GEN ELECTRONIC MODEL | Unlike traditional thermal photocells (with a bi-metal piece looking through the window), this new electronic model has a repeatable set point that does not drift during the life of the product. It has a much faster reaction time and works better with LED and induction light fixtures due to their ability to withstand high inrush current. | EASY TO INSTALL | The photocell sensor inside senses sunlight and automatically turns lights on at dusk and off at dawn. The turn lock design makes it easy to remove and install if replacement is needed. Standard prongs ensures this sensor could be used with any standard twist lock receptacle. | TIME DELAY FEATURE | Works with standard NEMA turn lock receptacles commonly found on dusk to dawn type barn or post lights. A built-in 5-second time delay feature avoids false triggers such as car headlights, lightening or other temporary light source. | ELECTRICAL SPECS | AC 120V 60Hz, 208-277V 50 Hz, 1000W Tungsten, 1800VA Ballast; incandescent, fluorescent, LED, halogen, mercury vapor, high pressure sodium, and CFL compatible. User manual is available for download in Technical Specification section in the lower right of this page.

Inexpensive replacement for sensor

So I "lived" with the light in the driveway always on. Finally I took out my ladder and noticed how bad the sensor looked in the light. I found this at Revain for a great price. Even though our Regent is over 20 years old, the old sensor was easy to detach and just as easy to snap back in place. Let's see if this one lasts 20 years but so far very satisfied.

Pros
  • | TIME DELAY FUNCTION | Works with standard NEMA twistlock outlets commonly used in barns or poles from dusk to dawn. The built-in 5-second delay function avoids false alarms such as car headlights, lightning bolts or other temporary light sources.
Cons
  • Communication with seller

Great replacement for twilight sensor

Easy installation, quarter turn twist lock. Direct landing from dusk to dawn. The sensor is a high quality photodiode, it looks like it will last a long time. It looks like the sensor will still work even if UV light inevitably fogs up the sensor's transparent plastic cover. A foam gasket is attached to the transducer to protect it from water. Can't beat the price considering MFG is asking $50 for this sensor. I had no intention of replacing my broken MFG sensor until I found this one.

Pros
  • | NEXT GENERATION ELECTRONIC MODEL | Unlike traditional thermal photovoltaic cells (with a bimetallic part facing the window), this new electronic model has a repeatable setpoint that does not change over the life of the product. It has a much faster response time and works better with LED and induction lights as they can handle high inrush currents.
Cons
  • Nothing here

Has been working for several months now.

This product is perfect for illuminating my garden. The lantern was installed incorrectly by the previous owner with the light sensor pointing south west instead of north, but this unit still works with no issues. I expect direct UV light will destroy the sensor at some point, so I'll add an update when the device stops working. To be clear, if it fails for me, it's the worst case scenario because it's not installed properly. With proper installation, the life of the product should be much…

Pros
  • | EASY INSTALLATION | An internal photocell sensor detects sunlight and automatically turns the light on at dusk and off at dawn. The twist-lock design makes it easy to remove and install when replacement is required. Thanks to the standard pins, this sensor can be used with any standard twist-lock socket.
Cons
  • Something different

Out of order: lights and ceiling fans

Doesn't work. I am an electrician with 40 years of experience. Normally the controlled light stays on if the photocell fails. I replaced a broken photocell with the light still on. I installed this photocell and nothing happened, period. I went to the local hardware store and bought one, installed it and it worked perfectly. Because I had to rent a scissor lift and find a free day to rent a lift, I was only able to install the photo eye after the return window was closed. I see no way to…

Pros
  • | UL-LISTED | Our photocell sensor is UL listed for quality assurance and your safety. UL Recognition allows this photocell sensor to be used in a variety of residential and commercial lighting applications such as: B. Outdoor lighting, shoe box lighting in parking lots, street lighting.
Cons
  • So far so good
