Good quality watercolor paper

I always try to find good quality rice paper for my watercolors. I want it to be a bit transparent and have a rice paper texture that will stand up to careful painting. This validates all fields for me.

Pros
  • Pack of 50 sheets 12x18
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other sets

Good Paper

The paper is stronger than most rice papers. The pad is well constructed with a non-moving cardboard backing that makes it easy to carry and work with. Slightly warped absorbent. I mainly use this paper for charcoal drawing and printing.

Pros
  • Pages have a very distinct texture and a slightly translucent appearance
Cons
  • Out of fashion

What I like about paper

This paper is very thin and the packaging itself doesn't say 'acid free' but I trust Revain for that. What I love about paper, and you might not, is that if you mark it with a fountain pen, the ink will bleed. So when you move fast the lines stay thin, but when you slow down the lines get thick and rough. You get really great drawings. Flamers work the same way. If you're ready for a little excitement in your line, this is the rug for you!

Pros
  • Great for sketching, calligraphy, watercolor and sumi
Cons
  • Slightly torn
