Cheaply made but works like

The second one I installed broke when screwing in the bulb. It's just a small piece of corrugated brass that wraps around the bulb and kind of presses against the electrical contacts below, and it's not very secure. I think we'll see if others do just as badly.

Works well! for electric

Exactly what the doctor ordered. Fits perfectly. My new LED spotlights were about 1.5 inches shorter than the CFL lights I used previously. These socket extenders were the perfect solution. And the price was better than other similar ones. Make sure you get the right length. They basically extend the bulb by 1.5 inches. I originally ordered 2" extensions but they were too long.

Just what I needed so the LED flows were low enough to light up the basement.

Recessed lights appear to be optimized for PAR38 halogens which are very long (filament to glass). Modern LEDs (even spotlights) are much shorter, so the glass was recessed about 3/4 inch off the bottom of the lights so each bulb only illuminated a narrow column. These extensions push the lamps down so they emit much more light on the sides.
