I am amazed at the quality of these splitters. BOTH devices stripped the wires from the base of the device when I tried to screw them into the socket in the usual way. A complete waste of money. I find it irresponsible for a company to compromise so much on quality when it comes to something as potentially dangerous as household electrical components.

I recently bought a chandelier without realizing that it only fits one bulb and isn't bright enough to light up the whole room . I figured I'd have to return it or start looking for wall sconces or lamps. Without even knowing that such an adapter existed, I took a chance and searched the internet for an adapter and came across this one! I painted it to match the chandelier exactly and you would never guess that it was an addition to the original light fixture! I am VERY glad I bought this!

Love this item for what it is supposed to do. I have bought several and will be buying more in the future. However, I will spray the threads with silicone spray before screwing the bulbs in again. Either the threads inside are swapped or need to be lubricated. I screwed in two LED floodlights and when I got to the third, it didn't screw in normally. Installed in a ceiling fan, single bulb, mount (usually encased in a 6 inch sphere) at my wife's sewing shop. with a 15W spiral fluorescent lamp) up to 180W with three equivalent 60W (10W) daylight LED lamps. The difference in brightness and improved visibility are noticeable. The one to be obeyed is the happiest. A minor downside is the inability to enclose the bulbs, but the LED ventilation is paramount. The energy savings are significant compared to the watts consumed by equivalent bulbs.

I'm only writing this because it's a security issue. As you can see in this photo, as the light hung from my ceiling, the light had detached from the base of the outlet exposing uncovered hot wires. The socket head cap screw is a protective cover for bare wires, but it is not securely fastened to the bracket, although it appeared to be so when first installed. Bought a couple of these to replace individual lightbulbs in a dark basement. They cover a range of models with 3, 4 and 5 sockets. Essentially, illuminance levels have increased from a single 100W incandescent bulb to the equivalents of 180W, 240W and 300W (using 60W LEDs). It's a lot smaller than I thought it would be, but that's good. While it's plastic and definitely not weatherproof (wires are visible in the gaps), it does the job of concentrating the light in one part of the room. It's a very useful, not-so-pretty gadget, so I'd pretty much keep it in a utility room or garage space. I combined this with the motion sensor and LED lights in my garage to create a TON more light in my garage.
