Works great for derailleurs and shifters

This is a derailleur cable (if you don't have a brake cable), it works great and if it breaks you can replace it almost free. Simple, effective, buy it if you need cables and cases.

Pros
  • Sport and Leisure
Cons
  • Only available in white

Wrong Housing Type - Shift Cables and Housing

This shift cable comes with a brake cable housing. If you have an index switch (the one that clicks) then it's the wrong tether body type. Only buy it if you are sure it will work with your Switch.

Pros
  • Parts and Components
Cons
  • Wrinkled Packaging

Perfect fit for Dahon Speed Derailleur

Not knowing the difference between a good-not-brake cable shifter cable, this worked great. I had to cut one end to thread through the derailleur and shorten the body to accommodate the cable to the derailleur. Overall, this worked great for my application. For the price unbeatable.

brake body. Two short ones for my big bike.

Brake Housing. Specifically, it's stamped "Jagwire CEX". The cable is too short for the connections on my 520mm globe. After cutting off the end that doesn't fit my derailleur, it's 191cm long. The end of the coaxial cylinder is stamped "C CC". The other end is a non-coaxial cylinder, similar to the end of a mountain brake, only smaller.

  • Service Speed

Cheap repair for a cheap bike

Brake housing or not it's the right type of cable, whatever it is it's *cheap* and I was able to fix my old Beater bike - bike that was already going strong was used when I bought it over 25 years ago. This is a bike that a thief once stole the chain from but left the bike behind! This is the bike I fixed the steel wheels on 15 years ago after falling in a pothole *bang*! The carriage staggers, not all gears are there, as if pulled from a landfill. That's why I love this bike! I hope to ride it

Pros
  • Shifters and Derailleurs
Cons
  • Discontinued

Shift Cable w/BRAKE Shroud

As several other reviewers have mentioned, the shroud supplied with this kit is a BRAKE shroud, not a shifter shroud. If you cut it open you can see that it's made of coiled flat metal typical of a brake housing, rather than wire mesh with no derailleur housing compression (google the difference if you don't know what I'm talking about). I thought maybe the other reviewers sent the wrong article, but it's clearly a shift cable with a brake housing. However, I still used it for the road bike and

Pros
  • Shift Cables and Shroud
Cons
  • Good, but not great
