Dipstick 400 Turbo Trans

Was a bit short for my application but only length was suggested. However, this is a good gauge that should probably be bent straight for shipping.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Clarity

DON'T SPEND YOUR MONEY! It's GARBAGE

Absolute rubbish. didn't seal the dipstick hole on the transmission and leaked fluid EVERYWHERE! The rod inside doesn't even come back when you pull it out to check the fluid level.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Updates

Works well and doesn't leak

I smeared some black silicone around the o ring and boot base to secure it in the gearbox and also added a gasket, works great and unlike others that have a plastic probe use a metal dipstick.

Cheap is best on hard parts

I read a lot of bad reviews and thought it couldn't be that bad, I was wrong. It's very difficult to get back there, and if you bend the tube too much, the probe will bend. The funnel adapter doesn't even fit the tube so I don't know what to do with it.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Will write later

Probe doesn't fit at an angle

When I put it on my truck and screwed the probe to the firewall, the probe wouldn't go all the way. The probe is solid wire, not braided wire like some competitors. I will return to the normal tube.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Fits

Keep bends to a minimum.

I used this probe to demolish a car in a derby. I had to make a hole in the plank for the pipe to go through to get the rod all the way into the pipe. The last 3 inches of the stick doesn't go through the small hole they give to get the stick into the liquid area of the sump, so I installed the "flex" pipe.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Almost never

MECH. ok but problems

That seems pretty well done. It has a teflon inlay to allow the wand to slide easily. However, the finished edges mean the rod will get stuck in the tube along the way unless it's practically straight. That basically makes it pointless since I bought it so I could fit it to my car. I'm sure I can get it working with some modifications. Again, with a little effort, I was able to mount the original stick and whistle. As a side note, others have talked about melting the "plastic" inside. I could…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Update available
