many terrible wine presses on the market. It's so durable compared to any other pusher I've bought in the last 15 years. My experience with pushers was so poor that after half a dozen or more pusher failures (usually the product bends or breaks) I stopped trying new ones and settled on my very strong but old-fashioned 1984 pusher. Okay, this thing is perfectly legal. I'm learning an awful lot and love using what works. I eat a lot of sweet potatoes and had one of the OXO plastic crushers. It worked well and was a hassle to clean with potatoes stuck between the plastic forks. I just tested this with purple yams and it worked like a champ. Firstly, the metal of this case is made from a single piece of metal which is extremely durable and hygienic (there is no 60 year old potato stuffing in the cracks). The handle feels comfortable. She's really well built. I've had potato mashers for years, some even on first use, and this one looks like the potato masher rock star. It does what it's supposed to and very well. Transforms boiled potatoes into a perfectly mashed mass. I also use it for bean sauce. It looks great, the handle feels great, and the flatter surface than a traditional potato masher seems to get the job done in half the time. I really enjoy working with this tool.
