I bought these bulbs to replace a Hampton Bay ceiling fan. They use far less energy than incandescent bulbs and shouldn't burn out in my lifetime. (Used 3 hours a day, should last around 27 years.) I am 73 years old. That would make me 100 if the lightbulbs needed replacing. My grandfather lived to be 109 years old, but I doubt neither I nor the ceiling fan would live that long.
