Summer can't be complete without Jaws and Jaws2

OK - Jaws is an amazingly complete series of films. The acting, direction, storyline and attention to detail make Jaws better with every watch. Jaws 2 isn't Jaws, but it's hilarious, funny at times, and inspires genuine waterskiing fears. Roy Scheider just wow! For the film, which he reportedly didn't want to do, he made Brody the kind of no-nonsense police chief you want to lead your island shark community. Jaws 2 might not be a piece of cinematic art like its predecessor, but it's certainly…

Same as Jaws without Dreyfus

Basking shark kills random people, apparently a descendant of the one from three years ago. Check. Young people drive boats without a permit. Check. Brody panics for no reason and wrecks the beach. Check. The mayor and developer used money to save lives. Check. The police chief risks his life to save the city. Check. In the end, the shark will be annihilated in an epic manner. Check. Same basic elements as in the first film but without Dreyfus getting in the way. This time Brody is alone and no

Worth buying for the features alone

was damaged JAWS is my favorite movie. I'll get it out of the way. That said, this sequel has always held a special place in my movie-loving heart, and I think the Blu-ray processing received here is absolutely incredible. Sharp picture and as good as I've ever seen. For me, the special features were really worth the money. The behind-the-scenes shorts (especially the mini-documentary about the making of this film) are a must-see if you're a fan of the series. It gives you a renewed respect for

Pros
  • handy thing

It was decent enough, not as bad as it could have been but could have been a little bit better. The shark episodes were spectacular. It was harder for me to get into that because teenagers were bad at acting. I don't know if your friend was killed by a shark right in front of you I would react a little more than a friend. It was worse than acting in B movies, it affected all the teenage actors, so it's no surprise that none of them are famous and therefore didn't have great careers. This film…

Jaws 2, Justin Bieber 0

There's a moment when Jaws 2 transcends and becomes very touching: when Sheriff Brody panics on the beach because he thinks he's spotted a great white shark in the water. That doesn't sound like much on paper, but Roy Scheider and the film industry in general have come together to really sell this. At this point, you can say that this is a genuine attempt to present a haunting allegory of ongoing trauma worthy of its masterful predecessor, and not a monster shark sequel. shark sequel. Much of…

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Hardly ever

While the first movie Jaws was an exceptionally good Incredible Buddies movie set against the backdrop of a frighteningly smart shark trying to kill everyone, this is a pretty good movie, Terrible Smart Shark, trying to kill everyone. The difference in premise makes the original Jaws one of the best movies you've ever seen and Jaws 2 a fun monster movie that doesn't have the emotional impact of the original. I haven't seen it in probably 20 years and was happy to sit down with the Blu-Ray and…

Cheesy and little to do with the first film

Years after the first film, Brody and his family still live and work on Amity Island. The shark seems to be killing people in the sea again, but it's related to boat accidents and such. Brody is fired from his job after scaring vacationers out of the water and wildly shooting bluefish. Is there a shark or is Brody just traumatized by his past? Jaws 2 brings back almost the entire cast from the first film (with the exception of Hooper and Quint), but it's not nearly as successful. Brody is his…
