🔧 Univeral Heavy Duty Oil Filter Removal Wrench - JC Performance (Large) Review

I bought this for my Subaru with an exhaust pipe. I figured I could just stick that in there and unscrew the filter. I suggested it would tighten as you turned, but it doesn't. It just keeps turning with three hands while you turn the wrench. I had to put my other hand in to keep my hands in place while I turned the wrench. It worked. but not what i expected.

I have mixed feelings about this product. I tried to remove the oil filter but it wouldn't stick. I think it's because the screws holding the claws were loose. I have found that the screws holding the levers like to come out. I would remove the screws and put in a red lock. As for the quality of the instrument, I've read that people have broken their hands. Basically, everything is working fine for me so far.

I was expecting this thing to be very tight on the oil filter when you turn the ratchet and release easily. It wasn't like that at all. This took a while to get working, and I still had to squeeze the rubber feet while turning the ratchet to keep it from slipping. Maybe a different tire? Or maybe it would have worked fine on one of those sticky-ended oil filters, but it just slipped on my VW.

I have a Super Duty F350 that has sat for about 10 years. Everything is fine in the truck, it just sits. I've tried removing the oil filter, it doesn't work. I bought what I thought were two heavy duty oil filter wrenches and they both bent immediately. Not knowing what to do, I went online and found this key. I work in a repair shop, I decided to buy it just to see if it's good. It's great for the price, I've had it for almost a month and I've used it on a couple of different oil filters and almost all of them have been so tight that at one point that claw got pushed into the filter and bent. It seems strong enough to last a while. I only gave it 4 stars because the quality of the metals just seems cheap which usually means it is cheap but only time will tell if it actually holds up. I've tried all possibilities and bought several devices to remove the factory oil filter (Hyundai Ioniq 2019). Standard filter wrench, does not fit the factory filter! FAULT lock channels. I had a big diesel engine with a stuck filter. I've tried three other types of wrenches with no success - this torque fits right down the middle, unlike the others, and you can use a long 1/2" drive rod/rogue to do this if you have enough hands to handle it all to hold it in place once it's installed. This filter wrench works GREAT, I use it on Cat diesel heavy duty filters and Cummins filters, 5" wide filters, it removes them very well if they are not too tight, I came across a filter recently , which was not properly lubricated upon installation and the wrench was able to remove the filter, although slightly damaged.
