88 Comanche 4.0 (Hex Head Bolt)

This is the only kit that includes all the correct size gaskets for the legacy hex head oil filter adapter. and no more leakage!

Pros
  • Great Design
Cons
  • Running Speed

Cherokee XJ Oil Filter Adapter Gasket Kit

Only 2 gaskets that will work with my 1992 4.0 configuration - 3 required (bolted oil filter adapter, no torx). Had to use a different brand gasket kit to get all 3 gaskets.

Pros
  • Rugged finish
Cons
  • I won't say anything

This is the exact set of O-rings required for an XJ '92

Finally. Finally the oil stopped flowing. I have previously used a department store porter kit and it was missing one of the required o-rings so oil was still leaking. Significantly reduced but not completely stopped. This kit contains everything you need to finally get the job done right.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Quick guide

Just what I needed for a '92 XJ

I have a 1992 4 liter Jeep Cherokee with a hex head (not Torx) oil filter adapter. This gasket kit had all three required gaskets, unlike another product I had purchased which had large and small o-rings but not a medium size. Hopefully this all dragged on and I don't have to worry about this leak for the next 27 years.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Fixed my last oil leak in my 1992 XJ 4.0

I had a serious oil leak and wasn't sure at first where it was coming from. Over the past few years I've replaced the valve cover gasket and rear main oil seal. I was hoping it wasn't my oil pan gasket and have been considering replacing the oil filter o-rings for some time. I bought a set of HELP or Dorman o-rings and they didn't come with all the correct o-rings. Anyway, they fitted my 1992 Cherokee 4.0 perfectly and the leak was fixed very easily!

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Definitely bad product
