If you like the quality of the music, don't buy!

I wasn't expecting high quality for the price but I thought it would be enough to convert my old vinyl records to MP3 files. My first impression was that the built-in speakers were a bit stiff, but I was waiting to hear a song ripped to MP3. Unfortunately, the metallic quality was reproduced very well, but still not enough for MP3 listening. So I tried running the player through my 1971 Sansui receiver and the quality was terrible! I packed it up and sent it back. Based on the reviews I thinkโ€ฆ

Very wearable but broke after a year and a half. Good for the price

I give 3/5 for the price. Mine lasted a year and a half before it broke. Started speeding up and slowing down randomly while listening to the recording. But up to that point it worked quite well. Can't handle records that are too scratched, can skip scratches where a better player wouldn't. The built-in speakers are quite small and therefore a bit quiet. However, this can be solved by connecting your own speakers via the headphone jack or the red and white cable inputs on the back. The stylusโ€ฆ

Fantastic device for converting old recordings to digital format

I bought this device to digitize my extensive collection of albums and convert them to CDs for listening in our van when traveling. It comes with Audacity software, which allows you to edit audio tracks and remove clicks and scratches without affecting the recorded sound too much. Of the six or seven albums I've recorded so far, some with noticeable clicks and clicks, they sounded very good when played through computer speakers, a pair of computer speakers with a Labtec amp and a pair of Boseโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Like everything else
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Sounds absolutely terrible, other technical issues.

First I hooked it up to my Yamaha home receiver and an Orb mini-T amp and it sounded horrible on both (tried RCA and 3.5mm aux on receiver, 3 .5m to Sphere) . The low-frequency response was completely absent; It's just that that part of the signal didn't even come out on any of those connections. This works via the built-in speakers, which sound about as good as playing music through a 2003 mobile phone speaker. I decided to save some money because with the technology available today, how canโ€ฆ

I didn't need another hobby like collecting records. BUT

this player completely changed my mind. The unit was well packaged and all moving parts were secured with tape. The needle (already installed but covered with a plastic sleeve) and adapter 45 were included. Mama's records sound great and we had a blast dancing around the house on Mother's Day! The auto stop feature works well with their recordings from the 70's and 80's. I've played with the tone control, which changes the tone slightly, but all albums sound better with it turned all the wayโ€ฆ

Good to know Audacity

When I first received the player, there was no USB cable or Audacity software CD. BTW, if you don't have a CD plugged into your computer, don't worry (the software they send you is outdated anyway). I was finally able to get a USB cable and software from the manufacturer (Jensen). Came in the mail pretty quickly. However, I had a heck of a lot of time to get the Audacity software up and running. Finally, after several long and frustrating days, I discarded the old version that was sent to meโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
