Lots of improvements over the old original pen

Can't say it's better than the original Shure n97xE stylus. The original broke over 2 months ago and when I got the Jico replacement I had a new phono preamp so an A and B comparison wasn't possible. But I am very satisfied with the sound.

  • Electronic Music DJ and Karaoke
Cons
  • Piggy Bank Price

Decent quality replacement for the SHURE N97xE

Significantly worse construction than the Shure I had to replace but sounds good and easy to install. The only thing you need to know is that you have to apply a lot more pressure with the counterweight to keep this thing from rolling down with the brush.

Pros
  • Turntable cartridge
Cons
  • Don't remember

A nice upgrade over the Shure stylus

Jico styluses get rave reviews in the audiophile press (which I'm always a bit skeptical of as I think all that audiophile stuff is a bit over the top). It's a really nice upgrade over the Shure pen, though. The soundstage and clarity of individual instruments were noticeably better with Jico. If a Shure cartridge gets a 5 out of 10, it's an 8 or 9. It's worth the money!
