A cable is already broken and the only way to get a new one is to buy a brand new unit. No spare parts are sold. there was also a dial in scaling. I had to press the opposite button a few times for it to stop. And sometimes the controls just don't work, other than turning on the camera, which seems to work via the remote.

I bought this for my Sony a6000 and a6400. I only use the 6000 for photography and the remote control works perfectly. The remote control turns both cameras on and off. The zoom function works very well on the 6000, but here's the downside. I only use my 6400 for video. The remote control works, but the zoom function does not work. Although it zooms in and out, it's so slow you're better off doing it manually. So a total of 1 star minus and 3 stars for features.

This remote control was used with my Sony FDR-AX100. This camcorder is mainly used to film my son's soccer games. A major drawback I found is that when the remote control is used to turn off the camcorder and after the green LED has gone off, the power button on the remote control becomes unresponsive. To function again, the remote control must be disconnected and then reconnected to resume normal operation. This is both confusing and unnecessary. I will return the remote control.
