I couldn't find the cable gauge in the description and didn't want to buy the 18-22 GA everyone else was talking about. I'm so glad I gave them a chance! Judging by the size of the cutter used to cut the plastic cover, it's a size 14, the 16 gauge has a few wires stripped from it. Those are good, thick, strong wires! The plugs fit snugly into the RCA connector. I am very happy with these plugs and will be buying more now.

I love the size of the head, nice and small to get into those hard to reach places. Detachable ribbon is convenient. Wire gauge is adequate, but it would be better if it was true 12 gauge. The JL is an audio file type product and you would expect it to have a slightly larger gauge as it is the same gauge as my standard cable so no big deal. I did notice a slight inconsistency with the RCA jacks, but they all stick tighter than the others.

Another small item that JL had to fit into their amplifiers for the high level connection. It works as advertised. Use it on a JL RD500.1 in a Buick Regal with a Harman Kardon system. Plugs into rear passenger door via quick couplers for full signal. Initially I used Scosche LOC but the bass sounded weak and lacking power. As soon as I changed it, the bass became fuller and cleaner.
