Not the best bit for power drills Parts and Accessories

I bought this bit to drill holes in the shank of a knife and it made 3 holes before the carbide tip broke completely. If you don't max it out you'll probably be fine, but if you need to drill through hardened metal, look elsewhere.

Pros
  • Power & Hand Tools
Cons
  • Vanish

Not for continuous use on hardened steel

Avoid overheating. The carbide holds, but the solder melts and the tip flies into another dimension. Highly recommended for mild steel. When it comes to hardened steel, don't skimp like me, just go for the expensive 100% carbide bits.

Pros
  • Twist drill
Cons
  • Damaged

Works well with Damascus Steel

I used this to drill holes in a Damascus steel knife blank which is quite hard in some places but can be drilled with a regular drill bit and is incredibly hard in others areas and ruined my titanium coated bits. If you are not a pro but just an amateur like me then this bit may seem expensive but having used it I would say it is well worth the money.

Pros
  • Power Tool Parts and Accessories
Cons
  • So far so good
