This is great, my hair was dark brown but turned golden blonde. I really like the color but what I like the most is the foam. I have colored my hair many times and nothing beats the foam coverage. No stains.

I was afraid to dye my hair at home. I watched many online videos on how to do this and finally settled on John Freed because it looked the easiest and only required one step. I think I made the right decision. My barber even said it looked good and he could make a lot of money if I'm wrong. I've used it three times already. Did exactly what I wanted! I will never go to a salon to get a tan again, I will be using this again in the future! I had old highlights that showed too much orange-red tone, I tried purple and blue shampoos but nothing helped. Be careful. When this product wasn't foaming but dripping all over the place, I called the manufacturer and was told that several colors, including this one, were being discontinued in 2016, THREE YEARS AGO! Check the code on the box with the manufacturer. They told me they would "just phase out the store" because they knew the product was expired.

Pros: Easy to apply, doesn't smell as bad as other colors I've tried, covers my occasional gray hair very well and leaves my hair looking shiny and healthy. The con color (dark natural brown) was darker than on the box and my already dark brown hair looked almost black.

I use Deep Cherry Brown and it's the right box color, great gray coverage and no drips! I can't find it in big retail stores or pharmacies anymore, so I stocked up on Revain. This brand is the only shade of red that doesn't turn my clown head orange or purple.
