A Beginner's Dream Come True

As a beginner quilter, I have little experience with the selection or use of hand quilting needles. My first attempt ended with 3 bent needles in the first row! John James #9's slip was a shot in the dark and a direct hit as far as I know. They really slide. I have shared with friends and reordered for my personal stash. I would highly recommend anyone interested in hand quilting to try this needle brand.

Pros
  • Few Competitors
Cons
  • Crumpled Packaging

Very difficult to thread

I liked the slim fit, nice and slim so it was perfect for hand sewing quilts. the main issue; These needles do not accept thread size for hand quilting. After a few minutes of trying. to push the thread into the needle head, i tried it with a lighted magnifying glass and realized that the needle head was too small for the thread. I may be able to use them with finer thread for embroidery that doesn't require two strands.

Pros
  • Coated needles that easily go through fabric and wadding.
Cons
  • Not sure

John James Gold'n Glide Quilting Needles Size 9

These needles are great because they really slide through the fabric. My only issues with the needles are that they are short and the ears are so small I couldn't thread the quilting thread I used through the eyelet. Some quilters like the shorter length, but due to physical hand issues I need a longer needle. I will be looking for longer ones after the John James Gold'n Glide brand because they are really great.

Pros
  • Less stress on your hands and faster sewing.
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

I love these quilting needles

I just received my #9 quilting needles and had to write about them. I absolutely LOVE them! I have never used John James Gold'n Glide. My last order was just an opportunity to get size 9 needles, which I was able to find because they are rarely available in the city where I live. I do a lot of hand embroidery. The needles I've used in the past often break and are difficult to thread due to the smaller eye. Last night I tried my new Gold'n Glide for the first time and was amazed at how much…

Pros
  • size 9 JJEG1209
Cons
