I just received my #9 quilting needles and had to write about them. I absolutely LOVE them! I have never used John James Gold'n Glide. My last order was just an opportunity to get size 9 needles, which I was able to find because they are rarely available in the city where I live. I do a lot of hand embroidery. The needles I've used in the past often break and are difficult to thread due to the smaller eye. Last night I tried my new Gold'n Glide for the first time and was amazed at how much easier it is to put on and use. My old needles had very sharp points and my left index finger used to hurt from the stitches when quilting. I could never work more than an hour at most. Gold'n Glide have a slightly rounded tip and are much gentler on the index finger. I could quilt for hours with very little pain. The eyelet is larger, the thread is easier to thread and the needle glides through the fabric like butter. Like I said, I LOVE them! What a stroke of luck to stumble upon such a price. Now these Gold'n Glides are my only choice!
