10% discount Boat Dealer Parts Price

Used on 1984 Johnson 4hp. Close to the original, but the angles of the hoses are different from the original. The engine has started, but there is no test drive yet.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Almost Never

Block not usable as is

I couldn't use the block because the base plate that attaches to the block is thicker and the screws that come with it have a different thread than the engine it was designed for (1960 Johnson 6 hp). Since I didn't have time to find longer screws with the right threads, I had to order an OEM part (which oddly is in stock).

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Not bad

Inexpensive but you get what you pay for.

Inexpensive and functional, but the metal plate holding the fuel inlet/strainer housing is probably the softest metal known to man. This combined with the tiny screw caused it to pop right out of the hole even when hand tightened. The thread was stripped before the case was securely fastened.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Only available in black

Works great, good price, be careful with the mounting screws

Unit works well but note; The intake and exhaust orientation was different than my OEM part for my light 4hp Evinrude twin. Also, this pump is larger than the OEM one, so I had to re-route the spark plug harness so it doesn't get in the way of the engine cover. Also, the supplied mounting screws were fine thread and appeared to be metric, so I used alternate 1 3/4" long 10-32 screws to suit my application. Otherwise, for the price compared to the OEM, a functional alternative.

Pros
  • Heavy duty
Cons
  • Large and bulky

Mounting direction may require longer fuel lines and bolts

I used this to replace the fuel pump on my 8hp Evinrude E8RCOB outboard. 1985. This required the purchase of additional 1 3/4" 10-24 stainless steel mounting screws (the screws provided were 1/4" shorter). The direction of this fuel pump was also 90 degrees from my original so I had to buy longer fuel hoses. After completing these modifications, the engine runs great. For the price, it was still cheaper than a regular fuel pump, even taking into account restocking.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Some issues
