Where has it been all my life?

Now I regularly make (GOOD) popcorn with little to no oil. They are so easy to use, although I messed them up a few times, once I get the hang of them they are amazing. If you haven't tried coconut oil + nutritional yeast + other favorite spices, you're missing out, this makes my favorite popcorn, and these guys require very little oil. At first I was confused that there are two of these but when I have parties I found it's really nice to have both, I can make one right after the other while…

Worked great for me

After reading all of these other reviews I approached my first use with some trepidation. But it worked fine! I put in 2 tablespoons of popcorn (relatively fresh since I just bought it yesterday, which may be part of the success), drizzled with oil and cooked for about 3 minutes (I have a fairly old microwave). Almost all the grains burst and only about 5 escaped from the container. Nice bowl of popcorn! ****I've edited my review to add that it's also a great container to warm up a batch of…

Unfortunately not for a job

I really, really wanted it to be as big as its potential. It seemed like the perfect solution to our popcorn situation because it was quick, easy, and portioned. However, due to its design or the material it is made of or something like that, it doesn't seem able to do its sole job. The flaps must be closed for the cooking process and opened by increasing the amount of popcorn that pops out. Unfortunately, they can't withstand the force of the popping beans, so they jump up almost immediately…

Cover with a microwave-safe bowl

Suggestions: Use oven mitts to remove from the microwave, it will get hot! Use a bowl or something that can be microwaved with a light weight to prevent runaway. Serve in a separate bowl. As many reviewers have pointed out, the doors don't stay closed, so I covered them with a bowl of Corelle after getting rid of the occasional grain after a messy start. I tried my microwave's popcorn setting (the display showed 1:15) because I was too lazy to look up the suggested time. This still left me with

Try the mess first, didn't decide to leave it, now I like it.

Seems like a good idea, but the first popping seeds rip off the shutters, and then popping and non-popping seeds pop all over the microwave. I thought I didn't close the dampers properly, so I stopped the microwave, washed it, closed it again, and started it again. Same result. And the corn that REALLY popped open and stayed in the cup was tough and chewy. If it worked as promised it would have made a good single serving which is what I wanted. I also wanted to use it at work but it would be…

Causes microwave error

Updated again: I have a red one at home and I brought a dark gray container to work but I can't use it in the microwave at work because for out for some reason it causes an electrical storm in the microwave - like I put metal in the microwave, but I didn't. At first I blamed the "Popcorn" setting and thought the microwave was at fault, but now I can't use it on any setting to prevent this. I've never had a problem with red when using it at home - only with dark grey. Previously Updated Review…
