Do not buy! How he got so many stars, no idea. I worked for about a month, used it for its intended purpose, but the plastic still melted. This product is terrible! I had to ventilate the whole house.

I wish I had looked at the review before buying this product, it melted the first time I used it! I bought this to protect my new pans from scratches but instead it ruined them by melting on the pan. Now I have to buy a new steamer basket and pot.

Works perfectly, not flimsy, it has those little things that separate it from the walls of the pan so the pita isn't covered with a lid and also keeps from direct contact with metal protected. Love it. I absolutely recommend it against any other model, be it metal or those thin silicone models.

Steamed broccoli and let stand 12 minutes instead of the recommended 10 minutes. When I took it off the stove, I noticed a faint smell of burning. I took it out of the pan and it all fell apart because the water was gone and the plastic was melting. Maybe the broccoli soaked up all the water? Not sure how it happened. Yes, I had a lid on the pot and over an inch of boiling water. Next time I'll use a metal basket for cooking! Creepy and dangerous!

Love this steamer, it's well designed, looks great and doesn't scratch the nonstick pan. This is my second one though, as it will melt if you evaporate all the water in the pot. I made that mistake but I was able to remove the broken steamer and clean the pan but it's still dangerous. We have a new induction cooker and I'm still getting used to the fact that it heats up faster and to much higher temperatures than our old gas cooker, so the lack of water surprised me.
