This is too cool. All advertised use cases are realistic and the product lives up to it. However, this market is competitive; I say they are the cheapest I could find and they work well.

Highly recommended. I use them to protect my counters. I put hot, hot cast iron on it. I used them to keep the handle from slipping while sanding. I also use them on handmade pottery to avoid chipping the pottery when used on marble slabs. I particularly like the fact that you simply rinse it off in the sink after use and let it dry on a dish rack or kitchen towel. (It really helps if you shake off some water before letting it dry. I like them so much I thought about giving them as gifts.

They come in handy for placing hot items on counters, tables, etc. They are thicker than others I have used and seen - both in the actual height of the stand and in the thickness of their component "walls" of honeycomb structure. which also makes them stronger. I use them as trivets for hot food and for gripping plates (small plates) and as "spacers" between pots to protect the enameled or non-stick coating of the pots on them.
