1.Lower Shift Cable Assembly for OMC Cobra Sterndrive. 2.Replaces OMC 987661 (older part numbers 986654, 987498). 3.Complete kit including gasket set to repair mechanical lower shift cable on OMC Cobra Sterndrives 1986-1993. Shift Cable: Measures 68.8" overall, with the Red Sheath measuring 58.6". Please check OEM to see if your ship is compatible.

Cheaply made and poorly assembled

barrel nut was too big, cable gland hole was too small and had to be drilled, then broke when I tightened it enough to hold it. Giving 2 stars because it works after spending 6 hours installing and removing the sterndrive for this cable to work properly. I had to reuse parts of my old cable to make it work properly with my OMC sterndrive. Wouldn't buy again if I need a different cable.
