They work GREAT with Coats & Clark*, Mettler* and Gutterman* thread spools! They will NOT work with Aurifil* coils. :( This is the only reason for 4 stars.

These things are so damn cool I tried to find an easy solution to keep them together and store them in my thread case! Too bad they don't come in larger packs.

I bought this and three other types of spool holders to see which one would work best for me. They're basic and do the job well, but it wasn't the right choice for me. YMMV. All of the models I tested worked with regular spools (going back to the wooden spools of thread I bought at Woolworths!
