I love this leash. We adopted an insanely active German Shepherd/Akita mix. He loves hiking and exploring. A little disappointed with my purchase. I use long leashes for training and sometimes to give the dogs some "freedom" when outdoors like on the beach or green areas (provided there is no one around to disturb them). I needed one for a new customer so I took it for the quick delivery, it was in stock and cheap. It's a lot lighter (read: thinner) than my standard brand, so only recommended for small dogs. I like this leash. I tied one end to the back door, and yes I use it almost like a tie, but not like that. This is the best purchase in a long time. We have a Siberian Husky who is very energetic and needs to run free but cannot be trusted off leash. This leash is perfect. This allows him to stay in an open area without staying strictly close to us. Since we got him we take him to the meadow near our house and let him run and play.
