This is a beautiful cabinet and quite a good size but we spent a whole day installing it on the surface. The bottom support has a groove that is very difficult to align with the cabinet. It was more difficult because we had to place it over the counter on the side so they were difficult to manoeuvre. Terrible guide! I've spent so much time trying to install it, it's ridiculous. I have a room cutout and it doesn't specify that the wood frame is the same size as the wall cutout. In addition, the screw holes for wall mounting had to be made further. Maybe our drywall is a bit thick or something, but that seems ridiculous. Would love to have one in my bathroom but have to return it as I can't do recess mounting due to plumbing behind the wall. Simply put, this mirror is not designed to be surface mounted.1. It's very well made, so it's very heavy. But the support rail and associated brackets appear to be very fragile. We have been looking for the right mirror cabinet for our bathroom for a long time. I like that there is no wood here that goes with other bathroom furniture.
