DO NOT BUY A 36 GRIT! on sanding discs

Do not buy 36 grit This is the worst sandpaper I have ever tried, it falls apart very easily and is short lived. I used it to knock off some putty and the sandpaper fails right away, as soon as you start sanding all the little abrasives fall off and all you're left with is a sticker on your block. I don't know how they have so many stars, but I'm sure it's not because of their 36 sand

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Useless features

Great abrasives with one flaw

I'm a fan of the Karebac brand when it comes to abrasives - they hold up well to heavy use on materials like steel and don't clog at all. The *only* problem (and I mean the *only* problem) is the adhesive - it's too strong, so the paper will rip if you try to peel the strip off. This makes changing the strips very time consuming and labor intensive. Unfortunately this is critical for me as I use PSA abrasives in a production environment and time is of the essence for me.

Pros
  • High test results for hold and durability
Cons
  • Hard to say

Five stars on PSA rims

Economical and easy to grind. BUT. The tape on the back of the paper peels off easily, leaving a long, thin, sticky piece of paper that sticks to the sanding block or your plane. if you also use it to sharpen chisels and knives. I need to attach a few strips of blue masking tape so I can put sandpaper on top and peel off both layers. What about cleaning up the mess with solvents (which isn't fast) will triple the labor time. I will never use this brand again. I will try 3M a bit more, but I…

So-so but I prefer Norton

This sandpaper isn't bad but I wouldn't give it 5 stars. I am comparing it to Norton 3x which I like a lot so my score reflects how well it compares to the Norton brand which I would rate a 5. It's not as sharp as Norton and definitely not as durable. The adhesive base is not very sticky and peels off very quickly. It starts to curl around the edges, and as the sawdust then creeps in and under the edges, it soon disappears. Good if you're on a budget, but it gets frustrating to use after a…

Totally Satisfied

I agree with other reviewers that this is great paper at a great price, but I had the same problem as others: the paper was too sticky to my sanding block. However, I solved this problem by applying a thin layer of wax to the block. The paper still adheres sufficiently, but peels off cleanly. I use a car cleaner/wax (sparingly, then lightly buff) and repeat from time to time as needed. First thing I noticed was that there was no grit listed on the back of the sandpaper, but apparently the…

My work is ruined: PSA Discs

I don't know how others have given this product positive reviews, but my experience has been terrible. First, the product doesn't use a paper backing to cover the adhesive; The grains of sand will not stick well to the paper and will fall out and stick to the glue. Also, prior to attaching the sandpaper to the long board, considerable effort must be expended to clean the sanding material of glue. Otherwise, the pellets will get stuck between the long board and the sandpaper, and of course you…
