I've had this bag for 3 years now. With daily use the leather has taken on some fantastic wear and character. The bag construction is of high quality, the leather still looks great with very little TLC. The buckles seem to be the only weak spot. One buckle has had a broken spring for the past year, and the other buckle is still functional, but I can see has a piece broken so it is likely to lose its spring very soon. I bought this briefcase a little less than 3 years ago, and the springs to make the clasps latch properly have become unglued and fallen out the second time. The first time this happened was after about 15 months. I contacted the seller, and I had to pay for replacement latches ($15 total). This has happened agin to the replacement latches, and the cloth for holding the velcro to keep the laptop inside the briefcase wore out after about 2 years. I purchased this on sale for about $130. While heavier than a nylon bag, this has all the compartments one could wish for, looks good, and is waterproof. I can carry a looseleaf binder, several textbooks, and a 15.6 inch laptop with room to spare.Subtracting one star because the shoulder strap clasps are misaligned. Excellent bag for business use. Has space for all the essentials - leather portfolio, surface pro 3, cables and other incidentals. I've inspected the stitching and the zipper, all looks really well put together. The tan of the hide is also very nice, I like the little scratches and imperfections.
