Description of ESPHome Compatible Tasmota Assistant for Superior KAUF Experience

Five independently controllable LED channels: Red, Green, Blue, Warm White, and Cold White. Runs ESPHome out of the box for 100% local control without flashing, soldering, editing YAML, or hoping tuya-convert works. Connects natively to Home Assistant without going through a cloud connection or requiring a third-party App to setup or connect the bulb. Reprogrammable with other ESP8266-compatible firmwares. Easily integrates into any existing MQTT system. Compatible with Tasmota. Flashing of WLED bin files is not supported, as WLED does not support both 1MB flash and Over-the-Air flashing. Please do not try to flash a WLED bin file on these bulbs. KAUF Smart Bulb Update v1.7 adds WLED support into the stock firmware. A21 bulb shape slightly larger than most standard bulbs, E26 base is typical for most US bulbs. Firmware version 1.7 adds support for controlling the bulb from WLED or xLights via DDP. Firmware version 1.6 adds improved fade performance and customizable cold and warm white using RGB LEDs.

It's getting harder and harder to find an ESP8266 bulb for a DIYer like me these days. Not to mention one that's easy to flash. This lamp can do everything! It is a high quality device and it was designed to my specifications. I build many theatrical performances for Halloween and Christmas and was looking for standard lightbulbs that I could easily adapt to my performances. I wrote my own firmware for the job and was able to flash this lightbulb with no problem! I will buy many of these. If…

This is what you need

Already ordered a second one after receiving the first one. So if you are in doubt and want to test it first, trust me, just get 2 or more in advance. You will not be disappointed. It's getting harder and harder to find flashable Esphome/Tasmota Smart Connectors, and while they're a bit more expensive, the ease of installation is worth it, and I'm happy to support anyone who puts local control/security first. I usually create my own esp8266 devices but I don't think I can create something clean

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • The cable is shorter than others

The best smart lightbulb for offline control!

First impressions are that this smart bulb is awesome! Out of the box it worked great. I put a light bulb in the lamp, turned on the switch and it lit up. I used my phone and connected to the WiFi network it started broadcasting, opened a web browser and entered the address given in the instructions. I got a list of Wi-Fi networks found, I clicked mine and entered the password. The lamp "rebooted" and connected to my network and my phone switched back. I opened Home Assistant and it said it…
