After using this unit on my desk daily for several months I can attest that it is well built, easy to use and clean and has had no issues. I was afraid it would clog as mentioned in some reviews but haven't experienced that yet. I only use medium to light roast beans and have not tried them with oily dark roasts so this may not be a fair comparison. So far so good. It's easy to use and makes a clean and delicious cup of coffee. I may just need to adjust the amount of coffee and/or the brewing time. It's so simple you can't really screw it up. Works well. They have had 2 of these for over 2 years. I am not sure if I would buy it again. You must use a medium grind, not espresso, or the coffee will run out forever. I think that an addition is necessary mainly because I almost bought this product because of the indifferent and negative reviews. It would be a shame. First, I don't see anything wrong with that.
