I liked the idea of removing the loose part to muffle the sound as needed. Muffler is bulky. Full extraction requires a screwdriver and can be tricky to follow unless you need to constantly hear the ringtone. I was under the impression that the silencer would "hold" the call to silence it and NOT completely remove it from the ring itself.
