i loved these i did my research before purchasing i was .

i loved these i did my research before purchasing i was not sure if it would work but they do. I tested them out and there is a way i have a hanging plant from the top of my window and she was to reach so i used a plastic bottle and hung it beside my planter and my plant is in love wih it. So far it has been working ive had them for about 4 weeks now and its good so far. For those trying to figure out about how much to water so they dont over water this is agreat solution honestly. I did read…

Pros
  • Saves money on plant replacements due to dehydration or over-watering
Cons

Effective pant waterer

Worked well, but had to find a weight to hold the end down in the water. Two in a 12" planter, using a 5 gallon pail, kept a 3' tall plant hydrated for 2 months. Follow instructions carefully, immerse in water over night, fill cap, don't allow air into the cycle, poke ceramic end into soil.

Pros
  • Can be used with any type of water source
Cons
  • The waterers may malfunction during power outages or loss of water supply

A plant extender when away

Purchased these to help keep certain plants watered. The only downside, the nozzle weight that goes into the water is loose and doesn’t help to keep the tube to the bottom of the water container. Also, you have to make sure the cone is soaked and full of water. I found sticking it in the plant pot and then putting on the cap, allowed it to burp out access air in the tube and suction water. Lastly, make sure you use a weight or hang from a hanger to straighten out the suction hose. Don’t suggest

Pros
  • Prevents algae growth in soil caused by over-watering
Cons
  • The waterers may not be able to accommodate plants with large root systems

Amazing when used correctly

It seems like most of the comments are from people incorrectly using hydrospikes. You not only have to soak before using, but also fill up with water; the lid comes off. Make sure the soil is wet and be sure the water is lower than the hydrospikes plant so it works through capillary action. If the water container is higher it works through gravity and will drown the plant. The YouTube’s summer Rayne Oakes has good videos explaining the process. When used correctly these things rock.

Pros
  • Can be used with any type of soil
Cons
  • The waterers may not be able to provide adequate water during hot weather

I've been using these for the last 3 weeks and it either siphons too fast or not at all. I followed the instructions and each device leacked at the tube connection at the cover. Multiple times, the water would constantly drain the water bottle like a siphon. While trying to reset the spikes, the water would not siphon from the bottle. I had multiple plants strat to dry out until I realized the product wasn't working. I went beack to using the a differnt type of product that uses a plastic bird…

Pros
  • Saves the environment by reducing water waste
Cons
  • The watering mechanism may become clogged with debris

Hit or Miss good for me

They only work for some of my potted plants, the soil in others is bone dry and the water level in my bottle never moves. Frustrating.

Pros
  • Easy to clean and maintain
Cons
  • The waterers may not be suitable for plants that prefer rainwater

OKay but I wouldn't buy it again

I purchased these in order to save a buck from my previous purchase of Blumat water spikes. I was a little surprised with the quality of these spikes. I was extremely concerned because the little ends of the pipe had popped off on a couple of them but it was an easy fix and i didn't have time to reorder. Honestly it was a 50/50 result. I came home to some of the plants being burnt and others that were okay (not thriving). I'm lucky that i live in a subtropical environment and its the rainy…

Pros
  • Perfect for office plants or common areas
Cons
  • The waterers may not be effective for plants with high water requirements

Instructions: my feedback

There is no instruction on how to use it. So you have to search around.Make sure the end in the water container is LOWER than the spike. Otherwise the water does not stop dripping.I found some did not work because the tube was choked at the cap but I was able to open the cap and fix the tube.Overall they work.

Pros
  • Reduces water runoff and evaporation
Cons
  • The waterers may not be effective for plants in windy environments

For small plants for my opinion

If you want something to provide more than a tablespoon of water a day to your plant, get something else. Thanks for attention!

Pros
  • Easy to refill and reuse
Cons
  • The waterers may not be effective for plants that prefer dry soil

Tube Pro Tip: my feedback

Plant parents! Instead of using a fishing weight or rocks to hold the end of the water line tube in the bottom of your container, just use a hairdryer to add gentle heat up and down the line while you're holding it taut, for a few minutes. The plastic will relax and straighten out the tube so it sits at the bottom of your container.

Pros
  • Can be used for outdoor planters or garden beds
Cons
  • The waterers may not be able to deliver water to all plants in a container or pot
