Description of 🍺 Kegco KC KT85D-L Keg Coupler D System - Efficient Black Connector for Kegs

Kegco keg coupler features a commercial-grade construction that stands up to heavy use in demanding commercial environments like pubs, bars, and restaurants. Specially designed with a lever handle that makes it more sturdy and reliable than standard wing handle style keg couplers. NSF approved keg coupler features a durable nickel-plated forged brass body with a sanitary stainless steel probe. This keg tap is compatible with all American "D" system sankey kegs and will be able to tap domestic brand beer kegs. Keg coupler design includes a 55-psi pressure relief valve that allows over-pressurized gas to escape before it enters the keg.

Good that I had a spare (without beer) with me.

Works as expected. Good thing I had a spare (no beer) from another I bought at the store. Otherwise I would have to go to the nearest beer shop which is about a 30 minute walk away. because the local hardware store definitely didn't have anything like that.

Pros
  • Performance is fair
Cons
  • Not sure

Don't fight kegerator taps that don't fully engage!

Replaced a Sankey connector that did not fully engage resulting in very slow knocking. Reused gas and beer nuts from the insignia. They were swapped out and the beer was flowing in less than 5 minutes. Why did I wait so long to buy? No more tapping on the beer dispensing area just to get the beer flowing.

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • Compatibility

Easy to use and set up

I bought this with ball lock barrel adapters. After reading reviews about the loss of CO2 through leaky connections, I wrapped silicone tape around the threads and pulled the adapters off with a wrench. I had no CO2 loss. I even ran these tests to see if I was losing CO2. I was not. I almost didn't buy this rig because of these reviews, but now I'm glad I did.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Big and bulky

It does what it's supposed to do

This faucet replaces a previous one from a different brand. The old one had a pressure relief valve that stuck and was difficult to operate. The old one also had a plunger to open the connection between the faucet and the barrel. It was so sticky it was almost impossible to use. All parts of the Kegco clutch work perfectly. This significantly reduced the time and effort required to change the barrel.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Gets angry

1 of 2 I bought leaking inner

1 of 2 I bought leaking straight out of the box. Bladder test showed no leaks so I figured it was ok. Once in the kegerator (cold) it flows like crazy! The whole bottle of CO2 ran out and now both barrels are empty! Carbonating the barrels takes 2 weeks. :-(The second faucet works as expected. I hope it's just a defect. I also wish they had a standard CO2 fitting. Had to buy it separately.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Mostly ok but...

Faulty CO2 Pressure Relief Valve

Great looking clutch but faulty pressure relief valve wouldn't close. All CO2 lost overnight. The next morning I checked all the fittings and connections and found that the check valve was not fully closing. We had a party that night so I replaced the valve with the one I removed from the other clutch. After a $15 CO2 refill and valve replacement, the party continued. Unfortunately I would not recommend this brand of clutch as it is not reliable.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Exterior

I bought two clutches and BOTH are LEAKING!

I bought two clutches for my Kizer and both have leaked. None of them close properly. It was very difficult to get them to turn all the way, but even when they were dressed as much as possible, the beer bubbled and flowed until I ran out of CO2. To avoid using a second CO2 bottle I had to pressurize the keg and then unscrew the sleeve until I was ready to pour the beer. Save yourself the hassle and buy another clutch.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Perfect for my Danby Kegerator

I recently had a leaking keg connector valve on my 10+ year old single tap Danby Kegerator. Since the car is parked on the technical floor, I had to be repaired. Even though the kegerator is old it still works so I ordered this product. The replacement is perfect! It's slightly different from the original, but none of those differences affect performance. I can't predict longevity, but I suspect the cooling system will die before the valve is replaced.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • No Form Required

Doesn't seal properly.

We connected this Sankey adapter to our kegarator, everything went great during our meeting. However, the next morning we returned to our conference room and saw the beer on the floor. The barrel ran slowly through the tap all night. We decided to turn off the faucet and have a look. Nothing seemed unusual. We thought it might be the keg itself and would try again with a new one. Same problem again. Looks like beer is pouring out of where the faucet is attached. I took this to my local homebrew

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Some errors
