Great quality with support while still being lightweight

The backpack was larger than expected and it was fantastic. I like the colour, the quality and the well thought out pockets. We just took it to the beach and it was easy to tuck the jacket into the front mesh, slide a heavier jacket underneath and leave plenty of room.

  • Quality construction

Great package! Also perfect for a diaper bag.

Great bag. I actually use this for a diaper bag and it works great. I wanted something I could use when the little ones are old enough to skip the diaper bag. It is the perfect size for everyday use and offers plenty of storage space. i love colors I want the bottom to be reinforced with a double layer or so, I can see the bottom cracking eventually. The time will show. Although very satisfied.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • No insurance

good package Suitable for steering wheel. Cozy.

I'm 5ft 8" on average and have been using quality backpacks for 27 years. I still use backpacks from the 27th year. not suitable for Yeti or Smurfs). Comfortably carries weight in a range of less than approximately 30#. The seller sent quickly in factory packaging in a strong box. One minus: the zippers are smaller than I would have liked, but for the estimated weight they shouldn't be. This is not a problem. If I had a wish, maybe just increase the size on the main zipper. The time will show…

Great backpack for day trips

At 6ft 1in I have a hard time finding comfortable backpacks but Kelty really excelled with the Redwing. The wide, comfortable strap keeps the weight right on my hips, and I appreciate the roomy side pockets for easy access to small items I might need. It may lack pockets on the hipbelt, but I've easily attached a few bags from rei. Overall, this is a great internal frame pack that I look forward to hiking for miles with.

  • Comfortable

Good backpack, comfortable and plenty of space in the pocket

I like the frame, comfortable and durable, fits well when I wear it. Has lots of adjustments for my large body and looks like it will carry most of my gear on my trip to Europe. The material feels a bit brittle in places and it remains to be seen how it will hold up after more intensive use. That's why I'm giving it four stars, and also because some of the main areas are pretty hard to get to. I will update it later this year as I use it more often. I like the look of the backpack and its…

Comfortable fit to relieve neck and shoulders

I was looking for a new day pack as my 30 year old Lowe Alpine pack was starting to dig into my shoulders and destroy my neck muscles. This old backpack was just a bag with side and top pockets and no inner frame. Switching to an internal frame pack shifts weight to the hipbelt and off the shoulders, making hiking pain-free. It takes a little getting used to, but so far so good and I'm looking forward to new hikes. This Redwing backpack has a very similar configuration of the side and top…

Great package for your money. So far very satisfied.

Dig into that bag. It's been over 20 years since I've been camping/hiking. Over the years, the minimal things I've done have only required a standard book bag. Lately I've lost a lot of weight and I've been going for walks with my family in the fresh air again. I hiked a lot with Kelty in the 90's. I still have this backpack and still love it, but it's 65+ and I didn't need that much room for day trips. We are a family of 5. Children up to 7 years. I end up being a pack mule for snacks, water…
