Tent and shelter downgraded

I have used the Kelty sun visor for years not only for shade but also for protection from the rain. The older models, now out of production, were much stronger and could withstand storms and rain if properly secured. This new model is much lighter. About the third time I put it on, one of the posts broke. The posts are actually a little long as it's very difficult to snap the last bar into place and there isn't much flexibility to spread the legs after installation. It arrived with a few small…

The best sun visor worth every penny, built to last - Kelty style

This is an amazing product. Packing into the perfect little backpack, it's lightweight and takes minutes to set up. We have used it in the yard and put 4 large garden chairs under it and also placed it directly on the patio. We were able to easily attach it to deck supports or handrails. It shaded the sun perfectly but let the wind through - even in the sweltering heat it was comfortable. Flies love to congregate underneath, but we solved that problem with a simple fly strip! It even protected…

Ease of use and setup.

This is a great beach cover. It wasn't very difficult, but together it would be a lot easier. I installed it myself and it still only took me about 10-15 minutes without reading the instructions. I will say that if you sit in regular sized camping/folding chairs, for me they sag a bit. I wanted to use it for festival camping but it blocked my view too much. It was great with a low profile or sun lounger. Easily fits back in your pocket and the weight is not an issue. The sun and wind protection

I had to change it but I still like it.

Good: Spacious. Big footprint. You can put half a picnic table, leaving room for 2-3 chairs. It withstood 30 mile winds very well with the guy wires in place. I like the little pockets to hold the quickdraws. Easy installation by two people. Yes, you have to pull hard to attach the last leg. The tote bag is very good. The Bad: The entry points are so low that you have to bend down to get under them, even for someone as short as me. You can move the legs a little closer to improve this position,

Very disappointed Good for Sun Shelters

UPDATE: We used to take our dog to the reservoir on a hot day and it was nicer outside than inside. It really doesn't cover the sun very well. I was very annoyed that I could not find an escape route from the sun. The material is so thin/transparent and you feel like you are being cooked inside. It's definitely not worth the money. It works well when placed under a tree. We weren't sure at first, the picture looks like it's too big for 2 people, but we were pleasantly surprised :) This sun…

Protects well from the sun, not so good in the wind

The first day at the beach wasn't that windy and it was great. The second day was windy and I didn't put it up because nothing would have held up. On the third day I put it on, pulled out the guy lines and attached another and it worked for a while but the wind picked up and it turned into a big green and brown parachute. I placed an angle downwind to try and reduce the wind a bit and reduce the wind area but to no avail. This is great for the intended purpose sun protection, works as intended.

  • Crumpled
