The price has doubled in a year. However, only the Kenmore filter will work with Kenmore refrigerators. Tried a universal filter for a lot less money. All leaked. So, until I buy another brand of fridge, I'm doomed! .

This filter seems to be the same as the one I bought from Sears but at half the price. The non-original filter I tried that was supposed to fit in my fridge didn't fit. I am very pleased to find this Kenmore filter at an affordable price.

They work fine in my Kenmore fridge. As soon as I put in a new cartridge, I run water through it for a few minutes. This allows all loose particles to be flushed out and the system to be freed from air pockets. I change it every year or so once the water flow slows down.

This new one is actually worse than the one I replaced. I changed clothes and at first nothing came out, then a lot of air bubbles and then suddenly jammed. Finally a normal flow for a well used filter (slow minimum flow). I usually buy them direct from Sears and have never had this problem.

I replaced the filter, which should have happened a long time ago. First I had to clean the shelf in the fridge. The instructions say to turn off the water but I'm stubborn! I also didn't fully insert the filter and the water ran all over the floor! After tightening it, I ran water through it for a few minutes as instructed. Works very well! Good filter!

The water that runs through this filter tastes great and I'm picky. I would like to know what was in the filter. I've searched everywhere and couldn't find the specs of this filter. I was hoping it would be charcoal but after installation a lot of water went through and absolutely not a single black grit came out of the filter. I've never had this with any other activated carbon filter, so now I don't know what it is. But the water and ice that comes out of it is delicious.

I had to replace my water filter after my other filter "deteriorated" after 2.5 months of use. The water from the old filter tasted awful so I wanted to find a replacement asap. I have never bought a filter from anyone who sells Revain but they offered the fastest shipping method. Filter received 5 days after purchase.
