    Poorly thought out mechanism for setting the combination

    Couldn't set the combination at all. I kept looking for the "red dot" as indicated in the instructions. Then the thing got stuck and I couldn't get it to work at all. $40 wasted.

    Don't take that thing!

    I bought this lock for my daughter's new laptop when she was a freshman. After setting the combination, it took me an HOUR to figure out how to actually get the lock to stay on the laptop. I couldn't get the lock to unlock entering the combination we set. I even tried a combination of factory settings, thinking maybe we didn't set it up from the start. I ended up asking the locksmith to CUT the lock (it only took him 10 seconds). While I see the benefit of a lock, next time I'll go with a lockโ€ฆ

    Waste of Money!: Computer Accessories & Peripherals

    Tried to change the combination according to the instructions and couldn't unlock the lock after installing. Even with the default combo after that, it still didn't work. Luckily I haven't got used to anything yet. One star is overrated. DO NOT BUY!

    Great for Apple Time Capsule

    Might be useless for some laptops but great for protecting Apple Time Capsule. The Time Capsule's thick base makes a traditional security cable useless. However, the extended T-bar on this cable works great for the Time Capsule.

    Don't take that thing!

    Not compatible with Dell laptops

    According to Kensington website this lock fits most Dell laptops. It is not. After installation, the latch does not pull tight enough to press against the side of the computer and can be easily removed by hand. I tried two lock patterns and six different Dell models (I1420, D610, D600 and D620). and all do not fit. I don't know if Kensington or Dell is to blame, but Kensington support is useless - they can't read email content and can't respond to it intelligently. Another point that applies to
