Not worth it Car electronics

Setting in Japanese. The screen is upside down. There is no way to change this. Even Kenwood technicians didn't know the answer. I called Kenwood, on the phone for 45 minutes, they decided it was faulty and I should return it.

Randomly clips the signal

The camera randomly clips the image, leaving a black image. Connected properly, it appears to be an internal issue with the camera itself. Very disappointed, went with Kenwood to match my Kenwood deck. I received a strange box with no instructions, just iron.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Small things

Bought this camera to replace a CMOS-320 that had dust and moisture trapped under the lens. It was possible to use existing wiring and spend a lot less money on a camera. Although the 320 doesn't have any additional views, it still delivers a sharp image and works great.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Almost never

Good picture quality but no distance indicator

I would give 5 stars but there are no lines in the camera to show how far my car is from the subject. The picture quality is really good. It covers a wide spectrum. The only problem I have is that I can't determine the distance from my car to the object. I had a mechanic install it and was told it was not an easy install. In general I am satisfied with the camera.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Nothing here

Can't get it to work

Purchased for our truck. I installed it with our touchscreen radio and I can't get it to work. I had to buy a bypass cable to hopefully fix the problem. But now when I do a backup it just shows a black screen and says input is disabled. I will update my review if I can figure out how to fix this issue. But that's not possible at the moment. I wish they had included instructions if you encounter this problem.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Volume

Clear night image.

Excellent camera. It appears to be about the same size as the OEM camera. I also only have a 14 outback camera for comparison. Both work well in daylight, but this Kenwood looks a lot better in the dark. The display is sharp and clear. I've been to the car wash 3 times now and it's survived 1 snow storm. My installer even commented on the quality of the camera. He was impressed.

Pros
  • Wide angle reflection

Fully satisfied 2014 F250

I have a Kenwood head unit and tried a cheap imported reversing camera that is built into the tailgate handle. After finding three different issues with it including not working below 30 Fahrenheit, I decided to spend a little more. I couldn't find a built-in device that I was sure of, so I installed it as shown using a bracket I made. The picture is as good or better than any factory system I've seen day or night. And I can even see my hitch when towing a trailer I've never towed before.

Pros
  • Car electronics
Cons
  • Without automatic

Potato quality, beware.

Potato quality. This lets you see what's behind you, but doesn't help with fine detail. Bought to work with a Kenwood head unit (DMX9706) and it's not exactly a flawless experience. There is no widget that allows it to be displayed on the display along with other elements such as radio or GPS. You can pull it up if you're not reversing, but the button is legally hidden on the touchscreen. You have to touch right in the middle of the screen to summon it. If I had to do it again I would choose a…

Not stealthy, picture quality is very good.

Easy to install. Rear bumper on a 2014 Jeep JKU. The instructions were easy. At the time, I didn't understand that although it was small, it wasn't very mysterious. That makes itself felt. While I'm not expecting 4K UHD video, the picture quality was better than I expected from Kenwood. I connected it to Kenwood DMX-706. I originally rated it 4 stars but have had time to check it out since. This is an amazing little camera. The transparency at night is amazing! When reversing at night, it is…
